NUTRITIONAL NUGGET – B is for Banana…

Did you know you get nearly 2g of fibre in a medium banana, and it’s a great source of potassium. The slightly unripe (green skinned) ones will be more slowly digested, giving you slow release energy.

Check out these 3 ways to enjoy bananas:

1. Slit a banana skin length-ways and slot in some raisins and cranberries. Bake till soft and mushy.

2. Got bananas that look like they’ve past their sell-by date? Freeze chunks of ripe banana and blitz them in a blender to create an instant, healthy ice cream.

3. Heat a non-stick frying pan and add diagonal chunks of banana and some fresh orange juice. Heat till the juice becomes thicker, add some flaked almonds and serve as a warming dessert.
